Stop Drowning Deaths Today

The CDC tracks nearly 11 drowning deaths per day in the U.S. In 2022, this is unacceptable – especially considering that it costs only $64 for a child to take a month of swimming lessons, via the USA Swimming Foundation network. Their data shows that just a single month of swimming lessons reduces the risk of drowning for a child by 88%. In our opinion, that’s $64 well spent.

The WJA Swim Club was created to address this issue within the WJA community, but clubs like ours are not practical everywhere. That’s why this giving season, we are asking that you support the USA Swimming Foundation, helping to make swimming lessons accessible for all, regardless of financial status.

Visit USA Swimming Foundation to make a tax-deductible donation, and help get as many people as possible into swim lessons.

Additionally, donors who contribute $64 or more between now and Wednesday, December 28 will be invited to participate in a Zoom Q&A with Olympic gold medalist and USA Swimming Foundation Ambassador Ryan Murphy on December 28.

Thanks for all of your continued support – together, we can spread awareness of this important issue and prevent these unnecessary deaths from happening.
